Ponds and liners

There are two main ways of constructing a pond, rigid

"preformed" ponds, or flexible pond liners. There are

advantages and disadvantages with both. We offer a free

delivery service on all ponds to any address within a 20 mile

radius of our shop.

In general a preformed pond will cost you a little more, but if

you can find one that is the right size and shape for your

particular situation then they are generally easier to install,

give a neater finish and are less prone to accidental damage

by dogs etc. Against this flexible liners give you the

flexibility, literally, to create a pond of whatever size, shape

and depth, you want....

Because of access and transport considerations, the maximum size, and in particular depth, of preformed ponds is limited, and this means that even the largest are unsuitable as a long term home for Koi. We recommend that Koi are kept in a pool that is at least 3' (approx 1m) deep, and preferably about 5' (1.5m) deep. So, if you're planning a koi pond, then a liner is what you will need.
