Coldwater Equipment To keep coldwater fish you will need 1) An aquarium - We are supporting the Practical Fishkeeping Magazine "Save our Goldfish" campaign. We therefore will not sell goldfish for aquariums of less than 5 gallons capacity. The bigger the tank, the easier goldfish are to keep, so although 5 gallons is the minimum, a 3' x 12 x 15", 20 gallon, aquarium would be better & a 3' x 15" x 18", 35 gallon one would be better still. 2) Some sort of filter, we stock a wide range but for most cases an internal or external powerfilter would be the best option. 3). A light, although not essential a light will greatly enhance your enjoyment of your new aquarium. Not only will you be able to see your fish more clearly, it will also make it easier to grow plants. 4) You will also need gravel, and you'll probably want some sort of aquarium decoration such as rocks or similar. In addition once your tank is up and running you'll also need a syphon and other equipment to help you clean and maintain your aquarium. For more detailed information on these items see our aquarium equipment pages.
